Entry rules for Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda depend on the passport you hold — not on the country you are flying from. Here is how to check yours, and what we confirm for you.

The one rule that matters
Your passport decides, not your departure city
Two people boarding the same flight in Lagos can face completely different requirements for the same destination, because one holds a Nigerian passport and the other a British one. Any advice that starts with “travelling from Nigeria” rather than “holding a Nigerian passport” is answering the wrong question.
AFCON 2027 is hosted jointly by three countries with three separate immigration regimes. If your trip crosses more than one host, you need to satisfy each of them — and if your routing transits a fourth country, potentially that one too.

These are the government portals where entry permissions for Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda are applied for, and the authorities that run them. Verify your own requirement with each country you will enter.
Kenya
Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA)
Kenya’s official eTA is applied for online before travel, through the Government of Kenya portal.

About travelling to Uganda →Apply on the government site itself. Search results for these portals are full of look-alike agents charging a markup over the official fee. Check the address in your browser matches the host printed on the card above before entering passport or payment details. Travel Ease never asks you for the login details of a government portal.

What to check for yourself
Passport validity
Many countries require a passport valid for a set period beyond your date of entry, and some require blank pages. Check yours now — renewals take time and this is the single most common reason a trip falls apart before it starts.
Entry requirement for your nationality
Visa-free, visa on arrival, electronic authorisation or an embassy application — this is set per nationality by each host country, and the answer can differ between Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Every country on your routing
A connection can require its own transit permission depending on your passport, the airport and whether you leave the airside area.
Multi-country trips
If you are following a team across hosts, you may re-enter a country more than once. Confirm your permission allows it.
Health and vaccination documentation
Some entry regimes in the region ask for specific health documentation depending on where you have recently travelled. Confirm what applies to your itinerary.
Onward or return proof
Airlines and border officials frequently ask for evidence of onward travel. If we ticket your journey, you have it.

We confirm the requirements for your passport
Tell us your nationality, your routing and which host countries you are entering. We verify the current position against the relevant authority and put it in writing with your quotation.
AFCON 2027
Travel to the Africa Cup of Nations in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda — arranged from anywhere in Africa and the diaspora.
Important information
