Kotoka International in Accra (ACC) is Ghana’s international gateway, and it has a nonstop link to the tournament region: Kenya Airways flies Accra–Nairobi (checked September 2026). From Nairobi the same airline continues to Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Entebbe.
Tanzania is within reach too, though not nonstop. Since January 2026 Air Tanzania has linked Accra with Dar es Salaam on a service that also calls at Lagos, and Uganda Airlines has announced an Entebbe–Lagos–Accra route from late October 2026. Ethiopian Airlines, via Addis Ababa, connects Accra with all four gateways.
English is Ghana’s official language and is widely spoken in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, where Swahili is the everyday language. On the ground you will pay in Kenyan, Tanzanian or Ugandan shillings rather than cedis (GHS), so make sure your card works for international transactions before you go.
Entry requirements depend on your passport, not your departure airport; we check them for you with your quote. Keep your yellow fever certificate with your passport for the whole trip: Kenya and Tanzania check it for arrivals from Ghana, Uganda asks for it from everyone, and Ghana requires it of every arriving traveller, so you will need it again on the way home.
