Lagos (LOS) is the stronger of Nigeria’s two gateways for this tournament. When we checked schedules in September 2026 it had nonstop flights to three of the four East African gateways: Kenya Airways to Nairobi, Air Tanzania to Dar es Salaam and Uganda Airlines to Entebbe. Zanzibar is one connection away, via Nairobi or Dar es Salaam.
Abuja (ABV) has no nonstop service to Kenya, Tanzania or Uganda. From the capital you can connect in Lagos or take Ethiopian Airlines through Addis Ababa; EgyptAir via Cairo, Qatar Airways via Doha and Turkish Airlines via Istanbul are longer alternatives.
English is Nigeria’s official language and is widely used in all three host countries, so most Nigerian supporters will manage without a phrasebook, though a little Swahili goes a long way. Before relying on a naira card abroad, ask your bank whether it is enabled for international payments and what spending limit applies.
Entry rules follow nationality, and we confirm them for your passport with every quote. Pack the yellow card as well: Nigeria is on WHO’s yellow fever risk list, which is why Kenya and Tanzania check the vaccination certificate of arrivals from Nigeria, and Uganda requires one from all travellers.
