Abidjan’s Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ) has a nonstop link to East Africa: Kenya Airways flies Abidjan–Nairobi as part of its Nairobi–Abidjan–Dakar service (checked September 2026). A single change in Nairobi then reaches Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar or Entebbe on the same airline.
The main alternative is Ethiopian Airlines through Addis Ababa, which also serves all four gateways. Longer routings through Cairo (EgyptAir), Doha (Qatar Airways) or Istanbul (Turkish Airlines) are worth pricing when the Nairobi flight days do not fit your dates.
French is the official language of Côte d’Ivoire; in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda the working languages are English and Swahili, so French-speaking supporters should be ready to handle bookings and transport in English. The West African CFA franc (XOF) is pegged to the euro at a fixed 655.957 francs, which makes euro-priced fares easy to budget for, but once you land you will need shillings or a card that works abroad.
Entry rules for the three hosts depend on the passport you travel on, and we confirm them for yours when we quote. Côte d’Ivoire is also on WHO’s yellow fever risk list, which makes the vaccination certificate part of your paperwork: it is checked on arrival in Kenya and Tanzania, and Uganda requires it from everyone.
