Uganda’s only international airport, on the Lake Victoria shore at Entebbe, roughly 40km from central Kampala.

Entebbe is about 40km from the centre of Kampala. How long that takes depends entirely on the traffic on the day, so we meet your flight rather than leaving you to judge it.

We meet you inside. Arrival transfers are part of every package, so you are met at the terminal rather than negotiating transport after a long flight. We do not publish a journey time — traffic makes any figure wrong for most of the day.

Uganda’s official e-Visa is applied for online through the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control portal.

Getting around Kampala

    Given the distance between Entebbe and Kampala, this is the one we recommend by default. A driver meets the flight and the vehicle stays with your group.

Match-day transport: no tournament shuttle, park-and-ride or stadium access arrangement has been announced for AFCON 2027, in Kampala or anywhere else, so we do not promise one. We do not publish journey times either — traffic decides those, not us. Once venues and kick-off times are official we build your match-day movement into the itinerary and tell you exactly what it involves.

Getting around on your own

    Uber, Bolt and SafeBoda all operate in Kampala — SafeBoda for motorcycle taxis with helmets.

  • Boda bodas

    Motorcycle taxis are how Kampala actually moves, and the only thing that beats the traffic. Use an app rather than the street, and insist on a helmet.

  • Minibus taxis

    Shared 14-seaters running from the city’s taxi parks. Cheap and constant, and routed by local knowledge rather than signage.

  • The airport is at Entebbe, not in Kampala — plan the journey into the city as part of the arrival, not as an afterthought.
  • Uganda sits on the equator at altitude, so the temperature barely moves all year. Rain is the variable, not heat.
  • Mobile money is used everywhere, and Jinja and the source of the Nile are an easy day out from the city.

  • Uganda is a confirmed joint host of AFCON 2027, but CAF has not yet published the host cities, the stadiums or the match schedule. Until it does, nobody can say which matches will be played in Kampala. We will say so here the day it is official, and we do not guess in the meantime.
